VersaLogic SBC Drives Traffic Control System

HADECS (Highways Agency Digital Enforcement Camera System) cameras are used to enforce variable speed limits under the Active Traffic Management (ATM) system. These systems automatically adjust speed limits to keep traffic flowing during busy periods. Furthermore, they are used to assist in the enforcement of speed limits by collecting photographic evidence. With both radar and video capabilities, these systems require extensive I/O capabilities.

The manufacturer of one the industry’s leading HADECS system found themselves in a jam when their latest system design required very specialized GPIO drivers. They turned to VersaLogic for a rugged SBC with the I/O to handle their task. VersaLogic not only provided the hardware solution, they also provided the software engineering resources to write a custom GPIO driver. By quickly finding a solution for the manufacturer’s GPIO issue and providing an SBC that met their system priorities, VersaLogic was able to help the customer to quickly meet their design needs.

Laser-based Security System Relies on VersaLogic Single Board Computer (SBC) for Rugged Processing Power

A leading supplier of security and surveillance cameras is using VersaLogic single board computers in their ultra-long-range laser illumination cameras. These high performance surveillance systems are protecting airports, borders, ports, waterways and nuclear power plants around the world. Designed to be rugged and highly reliable, the systems are employed by both the U.S. Department of Energy and the Department of Defense. Unlike conventional night vision technologies that rely on moonlight, laser illumination cameras use continuous wave laser illumination, electro-optics and image processing to provide clear pictures in zero light or full daylight.

Using the high performance processing power of the VersaLogic SBC, the surveillance system is capable of producing grayscale video in which words and numbers are legible from a range of up to 3000 meters. The system also provides visibility through rain and other inclement weather. Designed to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations, VersaLogic SBCs are capable of operating smoothly under the harshest environmental conditions.

Mobile Command System Relies on VersaLogic's Single Board Computer (SBC)

The latest generation of Mobile Command Systems are providing public safety professionals with powerful communications tools during chaotic situations. These rugged systems provide situational awareness and rapid response for efficient emergency management. State-of-the-art disaster response and mobile command vehicles integrate communications equipment, hardware, and sophisticated software tools to deliver powerful communications and surveillance to emergency management personnel when it's most needed: at the scene of the disaster.

One of the industry’s leading manufacturers of emergency response equipment is using VersaLogic SBCs as the heart of the sophisticated communications in their latest Mobile Command Systems. The manufacturer needed both an extended lifetime guarantee and board customization. VersaLogic delivered on both measures. Even under tight deadlines, VersaLogic has the capability to customize boards with conformal coating that ensures system components will continue to work under the most adverse environmental conditions. Plus, VersaLogic’s unique lifecycle management programs can extend availability to 10 or 15 years.
